Whether you are getting newly engaged in activism work or have been resisting the attack on our shared democracy for the last nine years - what is clear is the need for all of us to prepare for the long fight ahead, starting with ourselves. This training will be covering the tenets of diversity, equity, inclusion and culture as necessary tools to keep ourselves whole while flowing through the ever-changing political conditions.

Save the Dates July 17-19!
Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we must continue the fight for voting rights with “Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action.”
Coined by civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis, “Good Trouble” is the act of coming together to take peaceful, non-violent action to challenge injustice. The power of collective non-violent action resulted in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and we must maintain that same collective action to fight for voting rights today.
This year’s weekend of action will honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis and carry the torch of the civil rights movement by doing what Lewis loved most – organizing, educating, and taking action.
Indivisible CLT will be working with partner organizations in planning actions that will honor Congressman Lewis’ legacy.

Join ICLT's Gen-Z + Millennial group at Common Market Plaza Midwood! Help us assemble kits with hygiene and comfort items for neighbors experiencing homelessness. We’ll grab coffee or food at Common Market, put the kits together, and for anyone who wants to also distribute, we’ll take them to Uptown around noon (~10 min away).

May 1: People Over Profits
May Day is a national day of action supporting Workers over Billionaires. Indivisible Charlotte, The Redress Movement, alongside faith leaders, community advocates and residents, will host a press conference and march calling for accountability from local corporations Atrium Health and Duke Energy.
Together we will demand that our families, children, and workers come first, not corporate profits.
Our People Over Profits event will highlight how rising housing costs and increasing energy rates are making it harder for working families to afford to live in Charlotte.

In the Know Live: Timothy Snyder
On April 30th, Indivisible Charlotte is hosting preeminent historian Professor Timothy Snyder for an insightful discussion about freedom, based on his recent New York Times Bestseller book On Freedom. Professor Snyder’s On Freedom challenges the common “negative" definition of freedom — the absence of government interference — and proposes a “positive" vision where freedom is the ability to create and choose your future. In addition to discussing other topics from his book, we will ask Professor Snyder to connect these topics to what is happening in the USA today - and most importantly, how do we prepare for what comes next. Timothy Snyder holds the Temerty Chair in Modern European History at the Munk School, University of Toronto, and is a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. His books, which have been published in over forty languages, include Bloodlands, Black Earth, On Tyranny, The Road to Unfreedom, Our Malady and On Freedom.

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.
When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

Activist Care Workshop: Finding Joy in Darkness
This virtual workshop provides multiple frameworks for recognizing the origins of the darkness we’re navigating and how to connect with joy to make their activism in addressing that darkness more sustainable. Lauren will lead the group through discussions of panic v. safety/liberation zones, the window of tolerance, etc. You’ll leave the workshop with a plan, resources, and a worksheet identifying:
Components of your safety/liberation zones
How you will spend more time in the Window of Tolerance to take action with more ease
